Raw - Emily's Fresh Kitchen

A raw food diet generally refers to a vegan diet where nothing is heated above 118 degrees Fahrenheit Food is not cooked, chemically processed, pasteurized, or homogenized. The basic premise behind a raw food diet is that cooking and processing foods decreases their digestibility by killing enzymes, vitamins, and minerals. Foods are mostly prepared by blending and dehydrating ingredients. Purests follow this diet religiously while others make an effort to expand the amount of raw foods they consume. The benefits of a raw diet include increased energy, clearer eyes and skin, weight loss, improved digestion, and reduction of diseases. Recipes that are raw are labeled with the icon below.
