Homemade tartar sauce is easy to make and tastes much better than the store bought versions. The dill and lemon juice make it fresh and bright. It is the perfect accompaniment for fish and seafood dishes.
1 cup homemade or good quality mayonnaise
2/3 cup chopped dill pickles: I like Grillo’s brand
1 TBSP fresh chopped dill
1 TBSP fresh lemon juice
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
- Place all the ingredients in a small bowl and combine.
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Store any leftovers in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.
