Hummus
Hummus is a delicious nutrient-packed spread or dip that originated in the Middle East and quickly became popular throughout the world. This simple, classic hummus recipe is easy to make and tastes much better than the store bought versions. I blend the ingredients in the food processor for a few extra minutes to achieve an extra creamy consistency.
Ingredients:
2 cans chickpeas, drained
6 TBSP tahini
6 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup olive oil
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 TBSP salt
4 tsp cumin
Directions:
1. Place the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, salt and cumin in a food processor.
2. Blend for 1 minute then stop and scrape down the sides of the processor bowl.
3. Blend for an additional 3-4 minutes or until smooth and creamy.
